Treating substance use disorder

(Substance-use disorder intake assessment for new clients is limited to DESC PSH Residents ONLY.  Each DESC PSH Site is assigned a Substance Use Disorder Case Manager and clients should inquire about services through that individual or through the SUD Program Clinical Supervisor, JD Hooser,  Jhooser@desc.org.)

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) is a promising way to treat opioid use disorder. MOUD combines the use of medication with counseling and behavioral therapies to support people in their journeys of recovery. We launched a MOUD treatment program with the lowest barriers in King County in 2018. Our program is designed for people who can’t travel to the same location each day or use traditional clinics. Treatment is available to people in our emergency shelters, outpatient programs and in supportive housing.
